Tubular cooler, also known as shell and tube cooler, is divided into tube side and shell side. The fluid flowing inside the tubes is called the tube side, and the fluid flowing outside the tubes is called the shell side. The wall surface of the tube bundle is the heat transfer surface. When the temperature difference between the tube bundle and the shell exceeds 50°C, appropriate temperature compensation measures are taken to eliminate or reduce thermal stress. It is generally water-cooled and dominates.
The tubular cooler consists of two oil coolers of the same area and a three-way valve device. One is in operation, and the other is on standby. Each cooler can bear the cooling load of the entire system. The tube sheet is fixed at one end and floating at the other, with a detachable tube bundle and water chamber cover, facilitating cleaning, inspection, and maintenance during operation. The material of the cooler can be selected according to the usage site and water system conditions.
Features of Tubular Cooler
1. The tubular cooler uses bare tubes (without finned surface) as heat transfer tubes, with high heat transfer coefficient on the outer side of the tube and strong anti-pollution ability. 2. The cooling tubes of the tubular cooler are made of high-quality red copper tubes and processed into finned heat sinks, resulting in small product volume and large heat exchange area. 3. The spiral baffle plate of the tubular cooler makes the cooled liquid flow in a continuous and uniform spiral rolling manner, overcoming the hot and cold exchange efficiency problems caused by the segmented baffle plate. 4. The tubular cooler adopts expansion tube sealing, overcoming adverse changes caused by high-temperature welding of materials. 5. The tubular cooler has good structural performance, stable sealing performance, high heat transfer efficiency, compact structure, and small footprint.
Structure of Tubular Cooler
The heat transfer tubes of the tubular cooler are made of red copper tubes rolled into radiating fins, with large heat exchange area, small product volume, and light weight. The oil cooler is suitable for cooling low-viscosity and relatively clean oil; the tubular cooler can be used in industries such as plastic machinery, hydraulic equipment, air compressors, thin oil lubrication systems, fluid couplings, and power devices. This series of oil coolers can be designed and manufactured according to customer requirements, ranging from small to medium-large, covering a wide range.
Working Principle of Tubular Cooler
Manual working process: After the water filter is connected to the pipeline system, water enters the water filter from the lower water inlet. When impurities in the water pass through the mesh core, they are intercepted on the mesh core because their volume is larger than the mesh holes. When a certain amount accumulates, a certain pressure difference occurs between the water inlet and outlet (the pressure difference varies with the mesh diameter, generally 0.15Mpa). Manually open the blowdown valve to start blowdown. Turn the handle, which can be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise. Rotate one grid every 10-30 seconds. The handle is fixed at each concave position, and the water flow reversely flushes the impurities and dirt attached to the inner wall of the mesh core. After rotating one full circle, close the blowdown valve, and the manual blowdown is completed. If the user selects an automatic water filter, differential pressure blowdown and timed blowdown can be chosen. 1. Differential pressure blowdown: When impurities accumulate to a certain amount, the differential pressure signal between the cooling water inlet and outlet pipes is used for backwashing blowdown. That is, the electric contact pressure gauge connects the control signal, the control mechanism opens the electric blowdown valve, and the electric reducer runs at a speed of 3-6 revolutions per minute. The water flow reversely flushes the impurities and dirt attached to the inner wall of the mesh core, which are discharged into the cooling water outlet pipe through the blowdown pipeline and blowdown valve. Each cleaning takes about 5-10 minutes. When large debris appears and the filter screen cannot run in place, the electric device should run in the reverse direction to flush the debris. 2. If needed, the user can set a blowdown time interval, setting the cleaning blowdown time within 0-99 hours. Generally, it is set to blowdown every 12 hours. The time setting can be adjusted according to the water quality conditions of the power plant. That is, the set time starts the electric reducer to reverse, opening the blowdown valve, and sequentially performing reverse backwashing blowdown.
